Ingredients
- 0.5 cube yeast
- 150 ml lukewarm milk
- 1 pinch sugar
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 300 g flour
- 1 kg onions
- 125 g streaky bacon
- 400 g sour cream
- 3 eggs
- 0.5 tsp salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- fat (for the baking sheet)
Instructions
- 1. Mix the lukewarm milk with the yeast and the sugar. Stir the mixture until smooth and everything has dissolved.
- 2. Add the flour and the salt to the milk-yeast mixture.
- 3. Knead the dough thoroughly with the dough hooks of your electric mixer until it is smooth and homogeneous.
- 4. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes until it has risen.
- 5. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
- 6. Peel the onions and slice them into thin rings or strips.
- 7. Dice the bacon finely.
- 8. Fry the bacon in a large pan.
- 9. Add the sliced onions to the pan and sauté them until translucent.
- 10. Whisk the sour cream with the eggs, salt, and pepper.
- 11. Mix the sour cream-egg mixture with the onion-bacon mixture.
- 12. Work the risen dough briefly on a floured work surface again.
- 13. Roll out the dough on a greased baking sheet.
- 14. Form a small edge on the dough.
- 15. Spread the onion mixture evenly over the dough.
- 16. Bake the cake on the middle rack in the preheated oven for 35 to 45 minutes.
