  1. 1. Mix the lukewarm milk with the yeast and the sugar. Stir the mixture until smooth and everything has dissolved.
  2. 2. Add the flour and the salt to the milk-yeast mixture.
  3. 3. Knead the dough thoroughly with the dough hooks of your electric mixer until it is smooth and homogeneous.
  4. 4. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes until it has risen.
  5. 5. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
  6. 6. Peel the onions and slice them into thin rings or strips.
  7. 7. Dice the bacon finely.
  8. 8. Fry the bacon in a large pan.
  9. 9. Add the sliced onions to the pan and sauté them until translucent.
  10. 10. Whisk the sour cream with the eggs, salt, and pepper.
  11. 11. Mix the sour cream-egg mixture with the onion-bacon mixture.
  12. 12. Work the risen dough briefly on a floured work surface again.
  13. 13. Roll out the dough on a greased baking sheet.
  14. 14. Form a small edge on the dough.
  15. 15. Spread the onion mixture evenly over the dough.
  16. 16. Bake the cake on the middle rack in the preheated oven for 35 to 45 minutes.
