🍽️ Sweet and Tangy Onion Jam

Ingredients
- 500 g red onions
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 5 tbsp brown sugar
- 60 ml balsamic vinegar
- 100 ml dry red wine
Instructions
- 1. Peel the dry skin off the onions.
- 2. Cut the onions into thin, narrow strips.
- 3. Heat the oil in a large pan.
- 4. Add the onion strips to the hot pan.
- 5. Cook the onions over medium heat until they are soft and translucent.
- 6. Sprinkle the sugar evenly over the onions.
- 7. Let the sugar melt and caramelize until the onions are golden brown.
- 8. Deglaze the pan with the vinegar.
- 9. Pour in the wine.
- 10. Reduce the heat to the lowest setting.
- 11. Let the mixture simmer gently for about 25 minutes.
- 12. Fill the warm jam into clean jars.
- 13. Let the jars cool completely at room temperature.
