🍽️ Sweet and Sour Onion Chutney

Ingredients
- 400 g onions
- 3 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp honey
- 0.5 tsp freshly chopped thyme
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 6 tbsp dark balsamic vinegar
Instructions
- 1. Peel the onions completely.
- 2. Cut the peeled onions into thin, narrow strips.
- 3. Melt the butter in a pot over medium heat.
- 4. Add the onion strips to the butter and sauté them briefly until they become soft.
- 5. Stir in the honey and let it melt into the mixture.
- 6. Gently fold in the fresh herbs.
- 7. Season the mixture with a pinch of salt and fresh pepper.
- 8. Deglaze the mixture with the vinegar.
- 9. Reduce the heat to low and let the chutney simmer gently for about 5 minutes.
- 10. Fill the chutney into clean jars.
- 11. Let the chutney cool down to room temperature in the jars.
- 12. Serve the chutney as desired.
