🍽️ Homemade Plum Jam

Ingredients
- 1 kg plums
- 2 cm fresh ginger
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 kg jam sugar (1:1)
Instructions
- 1. Heat a pot with some water and bring it to a boil.
- 2. Make small cross-shaped cuts into the skin of the plums.
- 3. Pour the boiling water over the plums to loosen the skin.
- 4. Immediately plunge the plums into cold water to stop the cooking process.
- 5. Peel the loosened skin off the plums.
- 6. Halve the plums and remove the pits.
- 7. Dice the fruit flesh of the plums into small cubes.
- 8. Peel the ginger and grate it finely.
- 9. Mix the plum cubes with the grated ginger.
- 10. Add the pectin sugar and the cinnamon stick to the fruit mixture.
- 11. Cover the bowl and let the mixture steep for about 6 hours.
- 12. Bring the mixture to a boil slowly with the cinnamon stick.
- 13. Let the jam simmer vigorously for 3 minutes while stirring constantly.
- 14. Remove the cinnamon stick from the hot mixture.
- 15. Stir the lemon juice into the jam.
- 16. Fill the hot jam immediately into prepared, clean jars.
- 17. Seal the jars tightly.
- 18. Place the sealed jars upside down for 10 minutes.
- 19. Turn the jars back over and let them cool down.
- 20. Store the finished jam in a cool and dark place.
