🍰 Juicy Plum Dumplings with Nut Butter Drizzle

Ingredients
- 500 g Curd cheese
- 2 Eggs
- 400 g Flour
- 1 Pinch Salt
- 16 Plums
- 16 pieces Cube sugar
- 20 g Butter
- 8 tbsp chopped hazelnuts
- 100 g Butter
- 1 packet Vanilla sugar
- Plums (halved, pitted)
- Icing sugar
Instructions
- 1. Place the quark in a fine mesh strainer and let it drain well until no liquid remains.
- 2. Transfer the drained quark into a large mixing bowl.
- 3. Add the eggs and flour to the quark.
- 4. Mix everything vigorously by hand or with a spoon until a firm, uniform dough forms.
- 5. Divide the dough into 16 equal portions.
- 6. Slightly flatten each portion with your palm.
- 7. Thoroughly wash the plums under running water.
- 8. Pat the plums dry with a kitchen towel.
- 9. Carefully pit the plums without cutting them in half.
- 10. Insert a small piece of sugar cube into the hollowed-out plum.
- 11. Press the plum back together so the sugar is enclosed inside.
- 12. Place a filled plum in the center of a dough flat.
- 13. Close the dough around the plum and shape a smooth dumpling.
- 14. Repeat this process with all remaining dough pieces and plums.
- 15. Fill a large pot with water and add some salt.
- 16. Bring the water to a boil.
- 17. Carefully place the dumplings into the boiling water.
- 18. Reduce the heat to low and let the dumplings simmer gently for 15 minutes.
- 19. Remove the dumplings as soon as they float to the surface.
- 20. Let the dumplings drain well on a sieve or kitchen towel.
- 21. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- 22. Arrange the warm dumplings on plates.
- 23. Sprinkle the dumplings with ground hazelnuts.
- 24. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the dumplings.
- 25. Finally, dust the dumplings with vanilla sugar.
- 26. Wash fresh plums and sprinkle them with powdered sugar.
- 27. Serve the sweet plums as a side dish to the dumplings.
