  2. 2. Boil the unpeeled potatoes until tender, which takes about 25 minutes.
  3. 3. Drain the water and let the potatoes steam dry for a moment.
  4. 4. Peel the warm potatoes.
  5. 5. Press the hot potatoes through a potato ricer onto a cutting board.
  6. 6. Let the potato mixture cool down completely.
  7. 7. Add flour, semolina, butter, sugar, egg yolk, and a pinch of salt to the cooled potato mixture.
  8. 8. Knead the ingredients quickly into a smooth dough.
  9. 9. Let the dough rest for about 20 minutes.
  10. 10. Wash the plums.
  11. 11. Cut the plums open to remove the pit.
  12. 12. Insert a small piece of cube sugar into the hollowed-out plum.
  13. 13. Shape the dough on a floured surface into a roll about 5 cm thick.
  14. 14. Cut the roll into 12 equal pieces.
  15. 15. Flatten the dough pieces slightly.
  16. 16. Place a filled plum in the center of each dough piece.
  17. 17. Seal the dough tightly around the plum without any cracks.
  18. 18. Shape the dumplings into round balls.
  19. 19. Place the dumplings into simmering water.
  20. 20. Cook the dumplings for about 20 minutes.
  21. 21. Gently nudge the dumplings occasionally while cooking so they turn.
  22. 22. Melt the butter in a large pan.
  23. 23. Sauté the poppy seeds in the butter.
  24. 24. Remove the pan from the heat and set it aside.
  25. 25. Lift the cooked dumplings out of the water.

  27. 27. Drizzle the dumplings with the poppy seed butter.
