🍽️ Homemade Plum Chutney

Ingredients
- 1.5 kg plums
- 3 apples
- 500 g onions
- 400 g raisins
- 350 ml best white wine vinegar
- 250 cane sugar
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tsp allspice (ground)
- 2 tsp ginger (ground)
- 0.5 tsp cloves (ground)
Instructions
- 1. Wash the plums thoroughly and pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
- 2. Halve the plums and remove the pits.
- 3. Finely dice the plum flesh into small cubes.
- 4. Peel the apples and cut them into quarters.
- 5. Remove the core from the apple quarters.
- 6. Finely chop the apple pieces as well.
- 7. Place the finely chopped plums and apples into a large pot.
- 8. Peel the onions and chop them finely.
- 9. Add the chopped onions, raisins, vinegar, sugar, and spices to the fruit in the pot.
- 10. Heat the mixture until it comes to a boil.
- 11. Reduce the heat and let the chutney simmer gently for about 1 hour.
- 12. Fill the hot chutney immediately into prepared, clean jars.
- 13. Seal the jars immediately with the lids.
- 14. Place the sealed jars upside down on their lids for about 15 minutes.
- 15. Then turn the jars right side up and let them cool down completely.
