  3. 3. Dissolve the yeast and one tablespoon of sugar in 4 to 5 tablespoons of milk.
  4. 4. Pour the yeast milk into the well.
  5. 5. Stir in some flour to form a pre-dough.
  6. 6. Let the pre-dough rest covered for about 15 minutes.
  7. 7. Add the remaining milk, salt, egg, and butter.
  8. 8. Knead the dough until smooth and it pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
  9. 9. Let the finished dough rise covered for about 45 minutes.
  10. 10. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
  11. 11. Line a baking pan with baking paper.
  12. 12. Knead the dough vigorously again after it has risen.
  13. 13. Press the dough flat and place it in the prepared pan.
  14. 14. Wash the plums thoroughly.
  15. 15. Pit the plums and cut them in half.
  16. 16. Place the plums on the dough with the cut side facing up.
  17. 17. Mix flour, ground almonds, sugar, butter, and cinnamon with your fingers.
  18. 18. Form small crumbs from the mixture.
  19. 19. Sprinkle the crumbs evenly over the plums.
  20. 20. Bake the cake in the oven for about 45 minutes.
  21. 21. Check for doneness using a wooden skewer.
  22. 22. Remove the cake from the oven.
