🍽️ Homemade Aromatic Sugars and Syrup

Ingredients
- 1 vanilla pod
- 300 g sugar
- 300 g sugar
- 2 tsp cinnamon powder
- 0.25 tsp ground nutmeg
- 5 cloves
- 1 untreated orange
- 300 g sugar
- 8 dried organic rose petals
- 400 g sugar
- 8 fresh organic rose petals
- 2 tbsp rapeseed honey
- 250 g sugar
- 200 ml red fruit juice (e.g. currant juice, cherry juice)
- 1 vanilla pod
Instructions
- 1. Slice the vanilla pod lengthwise in half.
- 2. Scrape out the vanilla seeds with a knife.
- 3. Mix the seeds, the empty pod, and the sugar in a bowl.
- 4. Transfer the mixture into a clean jar.
- 5. Seal the jar tightly.
- 6. Let the sugar infuse for a few days.
- 7. Mix the sugar with cinnamon and grated nutmeg.
- 8. Place the spice mixture into a blender.
- 9. Blend the ingredients once or twice briefly.
- 10. Stir the clove spices into the mixture.
- 11. Transfer the spiced sugar into a clean jar.
- 12. Seal the jar tightly.
- 13. Let the sugar stand for a few days.
- 14. Rinse the orange under hot water.
- 15. Dry the orange with a cloth.
- 16. Peel the orange zest using a vegetable peeler.
- 17. Mix the zest with the sugar.
- 18. Transfer the orange sugar into a clean jar.
- 19. Seal the jar tightly.
- 20. Let the sugar infuse for a few days.
- 21. Place half of the sugar and the dried rose petals into a blender.
- 22. Blend the ingredients once or twice briefly.
- 23. Mix the fresh rose petals with the remaining sugar.
- 24. Layer the blended and fresh mixtures alternately into a sealable jar.
- 25. Seal the jar tightly.
- 26. Let the sugar infuse for a few days.
- 27. Pour the rapeseed honey into a bottle.
- 28. Distribute the honey evenly by tilting and rotating the bottle.
- 29. Slice the vanilla pod lengthwise.
- 30. Place the sugar, vanilla pod, and fruit juice into a pot.
- 31. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- 32. Boil the solution until the sugar has completely dissolved.
- 33. Remove the pot from the heat.
- 34. Let the sugar solution cool down completely with the vanilla pod.
- 35. Pour the cooled solution carefully over the honey.
- 36. Store the syrup in a cool place.
