  4. 4. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  5. 5. Stir in the honey, a pinch of salt, the cloves, and the allspice.
  6. 6. Let the sauce simmer over medium heat for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. 7. Remove the sauce from the heat and let it cool down completely.
  8. 8. Finally, season the cooled sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. 9. Wash the zucchini thoroughly and remove the stem end if necessary.
  10. 10. Grate the zucchini coarsely.
  11. 11. Sprinkle the grated zucchini with salt and let it stand for about 10 minutes to release moisture.
  12. 12. Then squeeze the zucchini well to remove the water.
  13. 13. Peel the potatoes and grate them as well.
  14. 14. Wrap the grated potatoes in a damp kitchen towel.
  15. 15. Squeeze the towel tightly to press out the potatoes.
  16. 16. Let the drained potato juice sit for a short time until the starch has settled at the bottom.
  17. 17. Carefully pour off the clear water, but keep the starch at the bottom.
  18. 18. Mix the squeezed zucchini and potatoes in a bowl.
  19. 19. Add the egg, the flour, and the drained starch.
  20. 20. Stir everything well until a homogeneous mixture forms.
  21. 21. Crumble the feta cheese with your hands.
  22. 22. Gently fold the feta pieces into the zucchini-potato mixture.
  23. 23. Season the mixture with salt, pepper, and a pinch of ground nutmeg.
  24. 24. Heat oil in a non-stick frying pan.
  25. 25. Take small portions of the mixture and place them in the hot pan.
  26. 26. Press the portions flat to form small patties.
  27. 27. Fry the patties for about 2 to 3 minutes on one side until golden brown.
  28. 28. Turn the patties and fry them for another 2 to 3 minutes on the other side until golden brown.
  29. 29. Repeat this process with the remaining batter in batches.
  30. 30. Place the finished patties on kitchen paper to absorb excess fat.
  31. 31. Spread the cooled onion sauce onto small plates or bowls.
  32. 32. Add the warm zucchini patties and serve the dish immediately.
