  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
  2. 2. Wash the zucchini thoroughly and slice it into approximately 2 millimeter thick rounds.
  3. 3. Wash the apples under hot water, dry them, and cut them in half.
  4. 4. Remove the stem end, the blossom end, and the core from the apple halves.
  5. 5. Cut the apple flesh into thin wedges.
  6. 6. Grease an ovenproof dish.
  7. 7. Layer the zucchini slices and apple wedges alternately in the dish.
  8. 8. Whisk the egg and mix it with the coffee cream.
  9. 9. Season the mixture with salt, pepper, and marjoram.
  10. 10. Pour the liquid evenly over the vegetables and apples.
  11. 11. Grate the cheese coarsely and sprinkle it on top.
  12. 12. Cover the dish with aluminum foil.
  13. 13. Place the dish in the center of the oven and bake for 15 minutes.
  14. 14. Remove the aluminum foil.
  15. 15. Bake the gratin for another 15 minutes until the cheese is golden yellow.
