🍽️ Crispy Zucchini and Apple Gratin

Ingredients
- 1 kg zucchini
- 5 red-skinned apples (e.g. Braeburn)
- 150 ml coffee cream (10% fat)
- 2 eggs
- salt
- pepper
- 2 heaping tsp marjoram
- 50 g parmesan
- butter (for the dish)
- herbs (for garnishing)
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
- 2. Wash the zucchini thoroughly and slice it into approximately 2 millimeter thick rounds.
- 3. Wash the apples under hot water, dry them, and cut them in half.
- 4. Remove the stem end, the blossom end, and the core from the apple halves.
- 5. Cut the apple flesh into thin wedges.
- 6. Grease an ovenproof dish.
- 7. Layer the zucchini slices and apple wedges alternately in the dish.
- 8. Whisk the egg and mix it with the coffee cream.
- 9. Season the mixture with salt, pepper, and marjoram.
- 10. Pour the liquid evenly over the vegetables and apples.
- 11. Grate the cheese coarsely and sprinkle it on top.
- 12. Cover the dish with aluminum foil.
- 13. Place the dish in the center of the oven and bake for 15 minutes.
- 14. Remove the aluminum foil.
- 15. Bake the gratin for another 15 minutes until the cheese is golden yellow.
