Ingredients
- 1 kg asparagus
- 0.5 untreated lemon slice
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 20 g butter
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- 1. Peel the asparagus from the base to the tip using a vegetable peeler.
- 2. Cut off the woody ends of the stalks.
- 3. Add the halved lemon, salt, and sugar to a large pot of boiling water.
- 4. Cook the asparagus for about 20 minutes over gentle simmering.
- 5. Melt the butter in a small saucepan.
- 6. Drain the asparagus and serve it with the melted butter.
