  2. 2. Cut out the segments (the juicy flesh without skin and seeds) from the limes.
  3. 3. Catch the dripping lime juice in a bowl.
  4. 4. Squeeze the remaining lime halves to extract the juice.
  5. 5. Rinse the oranges thoroughly under hot water.
  6. 6. Dry the oranges with a cloth.
  7. 7. Peel the thin, orange layer of the oranges into fine strips (zest).
  8. 8. Squeeze the juice from the oranges.
  9. 9. Peel the apple.
  10. 10. Cut the apple into four quarters.
  11. 11. Remove the core (the hard part with the seeds) from the apple quarters.
  12. 12. Grate the apple flesh finely.
  13. 13. Put the grated apples, lime juice, lime segments, orange juice, and orange zest into a pot.
  14. 14. Add the brown sugar to the pot.
  15. 15. Let the mixture steep for about 20 minutes.
