  2. 2. Mix the flour, baking powder, lemon zest, and cornstarch in a separate bowl.
  3. 3. Add the lemon juice and the butter mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until smooth.
  4. 4. Grease a cake pan with a little butter.
  5. 5. Pour the batter into the pan and smooth the surface.
  6. 6. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
  7. 7. Place the pan in the oven and bake the cake for about 50 minutes.
  8. 8. Cover the cake with aluminum foil after half the baking time if it is getting too dark.
  9. 9. Check for doneness with a wooden skewer, which should come out clean.
  10. 10. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 5 minutes.
  11. 11. Release the cake from the pan and place it on a wire rack to cool completely.
  12. 12. Whisk the lemon juice with the powdered sugar to make a thick glaze.
