  1. 1. Rinse the lemon under hot water and pat it dry.
  2. 2. Grate the lemon peel finely to get zest.
  3. 3. Squeeze the juice out of the lemon.
  4. 4. Peel the garlic cloves.
  5. 5. Slice the garlic into very thin pieces.
  6. 6. Bring water to a boil in a large pot and add salt.
  7. 7. Cook the pasta in the salted water until al dente.
  8. 8. Follow the cooking time on the package instructions.
  9. 9. Melt the butter in a pan over low heat.
  10. 10. Add the fine garlic slices and the lemon zest to the pan.
  11. 11. Sauté the mixture gently for 2 to 3 minutes.
  12. 12. Heat a second pan for the pine nuts.
  13. 13. Roast the pine nuts in the pan until they smell fragrant.
  14. 14. Wash the basil under running water.
  15. 15. Shake the basil dry.
  16. 16. Pluck the basil leaves from the stems.
  17. 17. Drain the cooked pasta.
  18. 18. Add the drained pasta to the pan with the lemon mixture.
  19. 19. Fold in the roasted pine nuts into the pasta.
  20. 20. Season the pasta with freshly ground pepper.
  21. 21. Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice.
  22. 22. Mix the pasta well to combine all ingredients.
  23. 23. Fold in the fresh basil leaves into the warm pasta.
  24. 24. Divide the finished pasta onto four plates.
  25. 25. Grate fresh Parmesan over each dish.
  26. 26. Serve the pasta immediately while warm.
