  1. 1. Peel the garlic clove and chop it finely.
  2. 2. Wash the thyme sprigs and shake them dry.
  3. 3. Set aside a few thyme sprigs for garnishing.
  4. 4. Strip the leaves from the remaining thyme sprigs.
  5. 5. Rinse the lemon under hot water.
  6. 6. Cut the lemon in half.
  7. 7. Squeeze the juice out of the lemon.
  8. 8. Mix the lemon juice with the chopped garlic and thyme leaves.
  9. 9. Season the marinade with black pepper.
  10. 10. Rinse the chicken breast fillets under cold water.
  11. 11. Pat the fillets dry with a kitchen towel.
  12. 12. Cut the fillets horizontally in half to create thinner cutlets.
  13. 13. Place the chicken pieces in a shallow dish.
  14. 14. Pour the marinade evenly over both sides of the chicken.
  15. 15. Let the chicken marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  16. 16. Heat the olive oil in a frying pan.
  17. 17. Fry the chicken breast fillets over medium heat for 5 minutes.
  18. 18. Turn the fillets once halfway through the cooking time.
  19. 19. Deglaze the meat with 50 milliliters of water.
  20. 20. Cover the pan and let the chicken cook over low heat for 5 minutes.
  21. 21. Season the finished chicken with salt.
  22. 22. Cut the remaining lemon into wedges.
  23. 23. Plate the chicken.
  24. 24. Garnish the dish with the reserved thyme sprigs.
