🍽️ Lemon-Basil Syrup

Ingredients
- 12 untreated lemons
- 1 kg sugar
- 2 stalks basil
Instructions
- 1. Wash the lemons thoroughly with hot water and dry them. Cut the peel into fine zest and squeeze the juice from all the lemons.
- 2. Bring the lemon juice together with the zest, the sugar and 600 ml water to a boil. Simmer for about 5 minutes, then add the basil and remove from the heat. Let cool and steep for about 1 hour.
- 3. Strain the syrup through a fine sieve, bring to a boil again and fill into prepared bottles. Let cool completely with a good seal.
