🍰 Heavenly Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients
- 250 g flour
- 3 tbsp butter
- 125 ml milk
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 0.5 cube fresh yeast (20 g)
- 1 egg yolk
- flour (for the work surface)
- baking paper
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 0.25 tsp ground cloves
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- sugar (for rolling)
- cinnamon (for rolling)
Instructions
- 1. Prep: Preheat your oven to 200 degrees Celsius (top/bottom heat, middle rack).
- 2. Mix the milk with one tablespoon of sugar and the yeast in a small bowl until the yeast has dissolved.
- 3. Put flour, butter, the remaining sugar, and the egg yolk into a large mixing bowl.
- 4. Pour the yeast milk into the bowl with the dry and wet ingredients.
- 5. Knead everything with the dough hooks of an electric hand mixer until you have a smooth dough.
- 6. Cover the bowl and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes.
- 7. Knead the risen dough briefly on a lightly floured surface.
- 8. Roll the dough out into a rectangle of approx. 20 x 30 centimeters.
- 9. Mix the remaining sugar with the ground cloves and cinnamon in a small bowl.
- 10. Spread the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the entire surface of the dough.
- 11. Roll the dough up tightly starting from the longer side.
- 12. Cut the dough roll into 6 equal slices.
- 13. Place the slices on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- 14. Cover the trays and let the rolls rise for another 20 minutes.
- 15. Brush the rolls with the remaining melted butter.
- 16. Bake the cinnamon rolls in the preheated oven for approx. 25 minutes until golden brown.
- 17. Take the rolls out of the oven while they are still hot.
- 18. Roll the hot cinnamon rolls in the remaining sugar-cinnamon mixture until fully coated.
