  1. 1. Pour the milk into a pot.
  2. 2. Slice the vanilla pod lengthwise.
  3. 3. Add the whole vanilla pod and the cinnamon stick to the milk.
  4. 4. Bring the milk to a slow boil.
  5. 5. Remove the pot from the heat.
  6. 6. Place the eggs (including the yolks) and the sugar into a bowl.
  7. 7. Whisk the mixture with a whisk for 10 to 15 minutes.
  8. 8. Continue whisking until the mixture is pale yellow and creamy.
  9. 9. Remove the vanilla pod and the cinnamon stick from the milk.
  10. 10. Stir the warm milk into the egg cream in a thin stream.
  11. 11. Place the bowl into a gently simmering water bath.
  12. 12. Continue whisking the cream with the whisk for about 15 minutes.
  13. 13. Continue whisking until the cream has become significantly thicker.
  14. 14. Fill the vanilla cream into four small serving ramekins.
