  1. 1. Switch the oven to the grill setting and preheat it.
  2. 2. Wash the tomatoes thoroughly and then cut them in half.
  3. 3. Place the bread slices on the oven rack.
  4. 4. Toast the slices under the grill until they are golden brown on both sides.
  5. 5. Take the toasted slices out of the oven.
  6. 6. Rub the cut surfaces of the garlic cloves over the warm bread surface.
  7. 7. Drizzle some oil onto the garlic-coated slices.
  8. 8. Spread the goat cream cheese mixture evenly over the slices.
  9. 9. Place the tomato halves and the basil leaves on top of the cheese.
  10. 10. Add a splash of lemon juice and a little more oil over the topped slices.
  11. 11. Season the crostini with black pepper and serve them.
