🍽️ Aromatic Brown Rice

Ingredients
- 300 ml classic vegetable broth
- 2 cardamom pods
- 4 white peppercorns
- 1 star anise
- 1 onion
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 125 g brown rice
Instructions
- 1. Bring the broth to a boil and keep it warm.
- 2. Coarsely crush the cardamom and pepper in a mortar.
- 3. Break the star anise into small pieces.
- 4. Peel the onion and the garlic.
- 5. Dice the onion finely.
- 6. Press the garlic through a garlic press.
- 7. Heat the oil in a pot.
- 8. Add the crushed spices and the cinnamon stick to the pot.
- 9. Sauté the spices while stirring for 1 minute.
- 10. Add the onions and garlic.
- 11. Sauté the vegetables for 30 seconds.
- 12. Add the rice to the pot.
- 13. Sauté the rice for 30 seconds.
- 14. Pour the hot broth over the rice.
- 15. Stir everything together.
- 16. Place the covered pot in the preheated oven.
- 17. Cook the rice at 180 °C (convection 160 °C, gas level 2-3) on the lower rack.
- 18. Let the rice cook for 35 to 40 minutes.
- 19. Check if there is still liquid in the pot.
- 20. If so, let the rice cook for another 4 to 5 minutes in the oven.
