  2. 2. Rinse the lentils thoroughly and let them drain.
  3. 3. Place the lentils and broth into a baking dish.
  4. 4. Put the dish in the oven for about 15 minutes.
  5. 5. Stir the lentils occasionally during cooking.
  6. 6. Peel the onions and cut them in half.
  7. 7. Slice the onion halves into thin strips.
  8. 8. Wash the bell peppers thoroughly.
  9. 9. Cut the bell peppers in half and remove the seeds and core.
  10. 10. Dice the pepper flesh into small cubes.
  11. 11. Peel the garlic cloves.
  12. 12. Slice the garlic into thin rounds.
  13. 13. Check if the lentils have almost absorbed the liquid.
  14. 14. Add the prepared vegetables to the lentils.
  15. 15. Add the thyme and mix everything well.
  16. 16. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste.
  17. 17. Drizzle some oil over the vegetables.
  18. 18. Place the sausages on top of the lentils.
  19. 19. Increase the oven temperature to 220 degrees Celsius fan-forced.
  20. 20. Bake the sausages for another 10 minutes until golden brown.
  21. 21. Taste the dish one last time and adjust seasoning if needed.
  22. 22. Serve the dish warm.
