  1. 1. Remove the outer leaves from the Savoy cabbage and cut the head into quarters.
  2. 2. Cut out the hard core from the cabbage.
  3. 3. Slice the soft leaves into thin strips.
  4. 4. Rinse the cut cabbage strips in a sieve under running water.
  5. 5. Peel the carrots and cut them into small cubes.
  6. 6. Bring the meat broth to a boil in a pot.
  7. 7. Add the sausage to the boiling broth and let it cook for about 10 minutes.
  8. 8. Remove the sausage from the broth and set it aside.
  9. 9. Slice the prepared sausage into rounds.
  10. 10. Add the diced carrots and the cut cabbage strips along with the spices to the still hot broth.
  11. 11. Let the vegetables simmer in the broth for about 5 minutes.
  12. 12. Add the sausage slices back into the pot.
  13. 13. Let everything simmer for another 3 to 4 minutes.
  14. 14. Season the stew to taste with salt and pepper at the end.
