🍽️ Cozy Winter Sangria

Ingredients
- 1 bottle good Spanish red wine
- 250 ml orange juice
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 0.5 lemon
- 2.5 oranges
- 2 apples
- 30 ml Cointreau
- 30 ml Spanish brandy
- rock sugar (for sweetening)
Instructions
- 1. Pour red wine, orange juice, and cinnamon sticks into a large bowl.
- 2. Peel the skin of one lemon and one orange in a spiral shape.
- 3. Squeeze the juice from the peeled citrus fruits.
- 4. Add the fruit peels and juice to the wine mixture.
- 5. Thoroughly wash the remaining oranges under hot water.
- 6. Slice the oranges into pieces about half a centimeter thick.
- 7. Wash the apples and cut them into quarters.
- 8. Remove the core from the apple quarters.
- 9. Cut the apples into small cubes.
- 10. Add the orange slices and apple cubes to the wine mixture.
- 11. Let the mixture steep for about two hours.
- 12. Pour the mixture through a sieve into a saucepan.
- 13. Add the cinnamon sticks and fruit peels back into the pot.
- 14. Heat the liquid slowly until foam forms.
- 15. Prevent the mixture from boiling.
- 16. Remove the pot from the heat.
- 17. Return the orange slices and apple cubes to the wine.
- 18. Add Cointreau and brandy.
- 19. Let the sangria steep for about four minutes.
- 20. Pour the hot sangria into punch glasses.
- 21. Serve the sangria with wooden skewers or toothpicks for the fruit.
- 22. Serve rock sugar for sweetening.
