🍽️ Crunchy Wasp Nests and Nut Coins

Ingredients
- 2 egg whites
- 80 g finely grated dark chocolate
- 200 g ground walnuts
- 80 g ground almond kernels
- 220 g powdered sugar
- 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
- 0.25 tsp ground clove
- 4 tbsp brown sugar
- 50 peeled walnut kernel halves
Instructions
- 1. Whisk the egg whites with a pinch of salt until foamy, but do not beat until stiff.
- 2. Mix the chopped chocolate with the nuts, powdered sugar, and spices.
- 3. Stir the chocolate mixture into the egg whites until a uniform dough forms.
- 4. If the dough seems too dry, knein ground almonds into it as needed.
- 5. Shape the dough into two rolls, each about 3 centimeters thick.
- 6. Roll the dough logs in sugar.
- 7. Wrap the rolls in plastic wrap and chill them in the refrigerator for one hour.
- 8. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 9. Slice the dough rolls into rounds about 1 centimeter thick.
- 10. Place the slices on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- 11. Place half a walnut on top of each slice as decoration.
- 12. Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes.
- 13. Remove the trays from the oven and let the cookies cool down completely.
- 14. Serve the cooled wasp nests and nut coins.
