  1. 1. Peel the garlic clove and chop it finely.
  2. 2. Place the broth in a pot and bring it to a boil together with the garlic.
  3. 3. Add the wheat groats to the boiling broth.
  4. 4. Cook the wheat groats at medium heat for 10 to 15 minutes.
  5. 5. Rinse the chickpeas under cold water and let them drain well.
  6. 6. Chop the pistachios coarsely.
  7. 7. Peel the onion and cut it into fine cubes.
  8. 8. Remove the stem ends of the strawberries and wash them.
  9. 9. Slice the strawberries into thin slices.
  10. 10. Wash the spinach and the basil.
  11. 11. Pluck the leaves off the spinach and the basil.
  12. 12. Add the spinach and the basil to the pot with the wheat just before it is finished cooking.
  13. 13. Let the herbs wilt and cook in the pot.
  14. 14. Pour the entire wheat-herb mixture into a sieve.
  15. 15. Let the wheat drain well.
  16. 16. Whisk the vinegar with the orange juice.
  17. 17. Add the grape seed oil, salt, and pepper to the vinegar-orange mixture.
  18. 18. Pour the dressing mixture over the drained wheat.
  19. 19. Mix the wheat with the dressing thoroughly.
  20. 20. Add the chickpeas, pistachios, onions, strawberries, spinach, and basil to the bowl.
  21. 21. Mix all ingredients with the wheat dressing.
  22. 22. Season the salad with salt and pepper to taste.
  23. 23. Slice the halloumi cheese.
  24. 24. Pat the halloumi slices dry with a kitchen towel.
  25. 25. Heat a grill pan.
  26. 26. Fry the halloumi on both sides for 2 to 3 minutes each.
  27. 27. Ensure that grill marks appear on the cheese.
  28. 28. Plate the salad.
  29. 29. Place the fried halloumi on top of the salad.
