  1. 1. Add both types of flour to a large bowl.
  2. 2. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture.
  3. 3. Crumble the yeast into the well.
  4. 4. Add 4 to 5 tablespoons of lukewarm water and the syrup.
  5. 5. Stir the ingredients in the well well to form the pre-dough.
  6. 6. Cover the bowl and let the pre-dough rest for about 30 minutes.
  7. 7. Add about 200 milliliters of lukewarm water, the oil, and the salt to the dough.
  8. 8. Knead everything together into a smooth dough.
  9. 9. The dough should remain quite soft.
  10. 10. Sprinkle some flour on your work surface.
  11. 11. Continue kneading the dough on the floured surface.
  12. 12. Stop kneading when the dough no longer sticks to your hands.
  13. 13. Shape the dough into a round loaf.
  14. 14. Place the loaf into a bowl.
  15. 15. Cover the bowl.
  16. 16. Place the bowl in the refrigerator overnight to let the dough rise.
  17. 17. Take the dough out of the refrigerator the next day.
  18. 18. Knead the dough once more briefly.
  19. 19. Sprinkle some flour into a bread proofing basket.
  20. 20. Place the dough into the floured basket.
  21. 21. Let the dough rise for another 15 minutes.
  22. 22. Place an ovenproof bowl with water in the oven.
  23. 23. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius fan-assisted.
  24. 24. Line a baking sheet with baking paper.
  25. 25. Carefully turn the dough out of the basket onto the baking sheet.
  26. 26. Bake the bread in the oven for about 45 minutes.
  27. 27. Remove the bread when it is golden brown.
