🍽️ Homemade White Bread with Pre-dough

Ingredients
- 250 g Wheat flour
- 250 g Whole wheat flour
- 1 Cube Yeast (42 g)
- 1 tbsp Beet syrup
- 4 tbsp Olive oil
- 1 tsp Salt
- Flour (for working)
Instructions
- 1. Add both types of flour to a large bowl.
- 2. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture.
- 3. Crumble the yeast into the well.
- 4. Add 4 to 5 tablespoons of lukewarm water and the syrup.
- 5. Stir the ingredients in the well well to form the pre-dough.
- 6. Cover the bowl and let the pre-dough rest for about 30 minutes.
- 7. Add about 200 milliliters of lukewarm water, the oil, and the salt to the dough.
- 8. Knead everything together into a smooth dough.
- 9. The dough should remain quite soft.
- 10. Sprinkle some flour on your work surface.
- 11. Continue kneading the dough on the floured surface.
- 12. Stop kneading when the dough no longer sticks to your hands.
- 13. Shape the dough into a round loaf.
- 14. Place the loaf into a bowl.
- 15. Cover the bowl.
- 16. Place the bowl in the refrigerator overnight to let the dough rise.
- 17. Take the dough out of the refrigerator the next day.
- 18. Knead the dough once more briefly.
- 19. Sprinkle some flour into a bread proofing basket.
- 20. Place the dough into the floured basket.
- 21. Let the dough rise for another 15 minutes.
- 22. Place an ovenproof bowl with water in the oven.
- 23. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius fan-assisted.
- 24. Line a baking sheet with baking paper.
- 25. Carefully turn the dough out of the basket onto the baking sheet.
- 26. Bake the bread in the oven for about 45 minutes.
- 27. Remove the bread when it is golden brown.
