  1. 1. Quickly mix flour, sugar, egg, and cold butter into a dough.
  2. 2. Shape the dough into a ball.
  3. 3. Wrap the dough ball in cling film.
  4. 4. Place the foil in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  5. 5. Dust your work surface with some flour.
  6. 6. Roll out the dough on the floured surface to a thickness of 0.5 centimeters.
  7. 7. Cut out eight large Christmas shapes from the dough.
  8. 8. Use a template or cut the rough shape freehand.
  9. 9. You can also cut out other figures like a Santa, a reindeer, a gift, or a snowman.
  10. 10. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
  11. 11. Place the cut-out dough figures on the tray.
  12. 12. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius with fan (convection).
  13. 13. Bake the cookies for about 10 minutes.
  14. 14. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool down.
  15. 15. Mix powdered sugar and lemon juice to form an icing.
  16. 16. Divide the icing into portions.
  17. 17. Color the individual portions as you like using food coloring.
  18. 18. Decorate the cooled figures artistically with the icing and sugar writing.
