🍰 Warm Apple Cake

Ingredients
- 100 g Butter
- 80 g coconut blossom sugar
- 0.5 tsp vanilla powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 3 eggs (size M)
- 0.5 organic lemon
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 200 g whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 0.5 tsp cinnamon powder
- 50 g applesauce
- 3 tbsp milk (3.5% fat)
- 800 g apples
- 2 tbsp sunflower seeds
Instructions
- 1. Beat the soft butter with coconut blossom sugar until creamy.
- 2. Add the vanilla powder and salt to the butter mixture.
- 3. Stir the eggs into the mixture one by one.
- 4. Rinse the lemon under hot water and pat it dry.
- 5. Grate the lemon zest and squeeze out the juice.
- 6. Add the lemon zest to the butter mixture and stir it in.
- 7. Mix the flour with the baking powder and cinnamon.
- 8. Stir in the flour mixture, apple puree, and milk in portions, alternating between them, until the batter is smooth.
- 9. Peel the apples and cut them in half.
- 10. Core the apple halves.
- 11. Cut fine slits into the surface of the apple halves.
- 12. Mix the apple halves with the lemon juice and maple syrup.
- 13. Pour the batter into a greased springform pan (if necessary) and smooth it out.
- 14. Place the apple halves on the batter with the smooth side facing down.
- 15. Sprinkle sunflower seeds over the cake.
- 16. Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (convection: 160 °C; gas: setting 2–3) for about 50 minutes.
