Ingredients
- 4 tart apples (e.g. Boskoop or Granny Smith)
- 200 g walnuts
- 4 celery stalks
- 4 tbsp mayonnaise (low-fat)
- 3 tbsp sour cream
- 2 lemons (juice)
- salt
- pepper (freshly ground)
Instructions
- 1. Wash the apples thoroughly.
- 2. Cut the apples into quarters and remove the core.
- 3. Slice the apple pieces thinly.
- 4. Place the apple slices into a bowl.
- 5. Drizzle the apples with the lemon juice.
- 6. Wash the celery stalks.
- 7. Remove tough fibers or leaves from the celery stalks.
- 8. Slice the celery thinly.
- 9. Add the celery slices to the apples.
- 10. Add the walnut kernels.
- 11. Mix everything together well.
- 12. Whisk the mayonnaise with the cream in a small bowl.
- 13. Season the sauce with salt and pepper.
- 14. Divide the salad among four plates.
- 15. Pour the sauce over the salad.
- 16. Sprinkle the salad with chili powder if desired.
- 17. Serve the salad immediately.
