🍽️ Crunchy Whole Grain Bread with Herring and Potatoes

Ingredients
- 6 slices whole grain bread
- 35 g butter
- 180 g waxy potatoes (cooked the day before)
- 3 herring fillets
- 1 unwaxed lemon
- 2 sprigs dill
- 150 g hard cheese (e.g. Hushållsost)
Instructions
- 1. Turn on the toaster and lightly toast the whole grain bread.
- 2. Use a cookie cutter to cut out 12 round circles from the toasted bread.
- 3. Spread each bread circle thinly with butter.
- 4. Slice the potatoes into thin rounds.
- 5. Cut the herring into pieces 2 to 3 centimeters wide.
- 6. Slice the lemon into rounds.
- 7. Cut each lemon slice into four quarters.
- 8. Wash the dill and shake it dry.
- 9. Pluck the fine dill tips from the stems.
- 10. Cut the cheese into small pieces or thin slices.
- 11. Layer the buttered bread with potato slices, cheese, herring, and lemon quarters.
- 12. Garnish the appetizers on top with the dill tips.
- 13. Arrange the finished appetizers on a serving platter.
