  1. 1. Wash the apple and carrot thoroughly, dry them, peel them, and grate them finely using a grater. Combine the grated mixture with walnuts and season with salt and pepper.
  2. 2. Wash the lettuce, spin it dry, and tear the leaves into small pieces. Place the lettuce on two slices of bread, spread the apple-carrot mixture on top, and fold the slices together.
  3. 3. Place the remaining slices of bread on top and press down gently. Cut the whole grain sandwich diagonally in half and serve.
