🍽️ Vegetarian Bratwurst in a Bun

Ingredients
- 2 red onions
- 3 tbsp rapeseed oil
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 0.25 tsp dried thyme
- salt
- pepper
- 4 soy bratwursts (100 g each)
- 25 g lamb's lettuce
- 4 rye whole wheat buns (with sourdough)
- 4 tbsp mustard
Instructions
- 1. Peel the onions and cut them in half.
- 2. Cut the onion halves into thin strips.
- 3. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan.
- 4. Sauté the onion strips for 5 minutes over medium heat.
- 5. Add the honey and let it caramelize for 3 minutes.
- 6. Deglaze the pan with vinegar.
- 7. Season the mixture with thyme, salt, and pepper.
- 8. Remove the onions from the pan and set them aside.
- 9. Heat the remaining rapeseed oil in the same pan.
- 10. Fry the vegetarian bratwursts on all sides for 5 to 7 minutes until golden brown.
- 11. Clean the corn salad and wash it thoroughly.
- 12. Shake the salad dry.
- 13. Cut the buns in half, but do not cut all the way through.
- 14. Fill the buns with corn salad.
- 15. Place the bratwursts in the buns.
- 16. Add the caramelized onions on top.
- 17. Drizzle some mustard over the sandwich.
