  1. 1. Mix the flour with the salt in a large bowl.
  2. 2. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture.
  3. 3. Dissolve the yeast in about 25 milliliters of lukewarm almond milk.
  4. 4. Pour the yeast mixture into the flour well and stir it in.
  5. 5. Cover the bowl and let the dough rest for about 15 minutes.
  6. 6. Add half of the sugar, the lemon zest, and half of the margarine to the dough.
  7. 7. Knead everything with the remaining almond milk to form a medium-firm dough.
  8. 8. Knead the dough vigorously until it is smooth and elastic.
  9. 9. If necessary, add a little more flour or liquid to achieve the right consistency.
  10. 10. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes.
  11. 11. The dough should have doubled in volume.
  12. 12. Knead the risen dough briefly once more.
  13. 13. Roll the dough into a log.
  14. 14. Work on a lightly floured surface and roll the dough out to a thickness of 1 to 2 centimeters.
  15. 15. Brush the dough surface with a little liquid margarine.
  16. 16. Sprinkle almonds evenly over the dough.
  17. 17. Mix the remaining sugar with the cinnamon.
  18. 18. Spread the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the dough.
  19. 19. Roll the dough up tightly lengthwise.
  20. 20. Cut the roll into slices about 2 centimeters thick using a knife.
  21. 21. Place the slices on two baking sheets lined with baking paper, leaving some space between them.
  22. 22. Brush the tops of the rolls with the remaining liquid margarine.
  23. 23. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees (convection: 180 degrees; gas: setting 3).
  24. 24. Bake the rolls for about 30 minutes until golden brown.
  25. 25. Remove the rolls from the oven and let them cool slightly.
