  1. 1. Heat sugar, vanilla, and milk in a pot.
  2. 2. Dissolve cornstarch in 2 tablespoons of cold milk.
  3. 3. Stir the starch-milk mixture into the hot milk.
  4. 4. Bring the mixture to a brief boil while stirring constantly until it thickens.
  5. 5. Remove the pot from the heat and let the cream cool down covered.
  6. 6. Mix mascarpone and quark in a bowl.
  7. 7. Stir the cooled vanilla sauce into the cheese mixture gradually.
  8. 8. Sweeten the cream with about 3 tablespoons of sugar.
  9. 9. Peel the pineapple, remove the core, and cut the flesh into small cubes.
  10. 10. Wash the apples, cut them into eighths, remove the core, and cut into pieces.
  11. 11. Peel the bananas and slice them into rings.
  12. 12. Peel the oranges thickly to remove the white pith as well.
  13. 13. Cut out the orange segments with a sharp knife.
  14. 14. Wash the grapes thoroughly.
  15. 15. Toss all the fruit in a bowl with lemon juice.
  16. 16. Place the fruit bowl in the fridge covered.
  17. 17. Thread some fruit pieces onto 8 skewers.
  18. 18. Garnish the skewers with fresh mint as desired.
  19. 19. Serve the remaining fruit separately in a bowl.
  20. 20. Fill some vanilla cream into dessert bowls.
  21. 21. Garnish the cream with chocolate shavings as desired.
