Ingredients
- 4 Surimi sticks
- Cucumber (1 piece, approx. 10 cm)
- 0.5 ripe avocado
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 250 g sushi rice
- 1 tbsp wasabi
- 2 roasted nori sheets
- 4 tbsp trout roe (or red caviar from sea bream)
Instructions
- 1. Cut the surimi sticks in half lengthwise.
- 2. Cut the cucumber in half lengthwise.
- 3. Remove the seeds from the cucumber.
- 4. Cut the cucumber halves into sticks about 0.5 cm thick.
- 5. Peel the avocado.
- 6. Cut the avocado into strips lengthwise.
- 7. Drizzle the avocado strips with lemon juice immediately.
- 8. Wrap the sushi rolling mat in cling film.
- 9. Place a half sheet of nori on the mat with the smooth side facing up.
- 10. Spread one quarter of the sushi rice onto the nori sheet.
- 11. Press the rice down lightly.
- 12. Carefully flip the sheet so the rice is now on the cling film.
- 13. Spread some wasabi on the bottom third of the nori sheet.
- 14. Place one quarter of the surimi sticks on the wasabi.
- 15. Place the cucumber sticks next to the surimi sticks.
- 16. Place the avocado strips next to the other ingredients.
- 17. Roll the sushi roll tightly using the mat.
- 18. Form three more rolls with the remaining ingredients.
- 19. Cut each sushi roll into 6 equal pieces.
- 20. Coat each piece in trout roe.
