  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees top and bottom heat.
  2. 2. Peel the onions and slice them into rings.
  3. 3. Wash the peppers, halve them, remove the core and the white inner membranes.
  4. 4. Cut the peppers into thin strips.
  5. 5. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a coated pan.
  6. 6. Sauté the onion rings in the hot oil.
  7. 7. Add the pepper strips to the pan.
  8. 8. Stew the vegetables together for 3 to 5 minutes.
  9. 9. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
  10. 10. Remove the vegetables from the pan and set aside.
  11. 11. Heat the remaining oil in the same pan.
  12. 12. Fry the meat well on all sides.
  13. 13. Sprinkle the meat pieces with three quarters of the amount of cheese.
  14. 14. Distribute the stewed vegetable mixture evenly over the meat.
  15. 15. Sprinkle everything with the remaining cheese.
  16. 16. Lightly pepper the surface.
  17. 17. Place the pan in the oven and bake the dish for about 10 minutes.
  18. 18. Serve the dish with potato wedges or french fries as desired.
