🍽️ Baked Hawaii Schnitzel with Cheese Crust

Ingredients
- 4 pork schnitzels (from the top round, approx. 200 g each)
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 8 slices pineapple (can)
- 4 slices Gouda
- pink peppercorns
- frisée lettuce leaf (for garnish)
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the schnitzels under running water.
- 2. Pat the meat completely dry with a kitchen towel.
- 3. Cut each schnitzel in half to create two flat pieces.
- 4. Season all sides of the meat evenly with salt and pepper.
- 5. Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.
- 6. Fry the meat pieces in batches, searing each side for about 1 to 2 minutes.
- 7. Place the seared meat pieces on a baking rack lined with parchment paper.
- 8. Place one slice of pineapple on each piece of meat.
- 9. Generously sprinkle grated cheese over the pineapple slices.
- 10. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius with top heat only.
- 11. Slide the baking rack into the oven and bake the schnitzels for about 5 minutes until the cheese is melted.
- 12. Remove the schnitzels from the oven and sprinkle them with ground pink pepper.
- 13. Garnish the dish with fresh frisée leaves before serving.
