  4. 4. Peel the pepper skin using a vegetable peeler.
  5. 5. Rub a grill pan with a little olive oil.
  6. 6. Heat the grill pan on the stovetop.
  7. 7. Place the pepper pieces into the hot pan.
  8. 8. Grill the peppers for 1 to 2 minutes on both sides.
  9. 9. Press the pepper pieces down slightly with a spatula while grilling.
  10. 10. Season the grilled peppers with salt and pepper.
  11. 11. Rinse the lettuce leaves briefly under cold water.
  12. 12. Dry the lettuce leaves carefully with kitchen paper.
  13. 13. Gently pluck the basil leaves from the stems.
  14. 14. Cut off the crusts from the toast bread slices.
  15. 15. Flatten the toast slices by rolling over them with a rolling pin.
