🍽️ Quick homemade tomato sauce

Ingredients
- 6 tomatoes
- 1 onion
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 chili pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp tomato paste
- 100 ml dry red wine
- 1 tbsp chopped basil
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- sea salt
- sugar
- basil (for garnish)
Instructions
- 1. Pour boiling water over the tomatoes.
- 2. Immediately cool the tomatoes in cold water.
- 3. Peel the skin off the tomatoes.
- 4. Cut the tomatoes into quarters.
- 5. Remove the seeds from the tomatoes.
- 6. Dice the tomatoes roughly.
- 7. Peel the onion.
- 8. Peel the garlic clove.
- 9. Finely chop the onion.
- 10. Finely chop the garlic.
- 11. Wash the chili pepper.
- 12. Chop the chili pepper finely.
- 13. Heat oil in a pan.
- 14. Sauté the onions and garlic in the hot oil.
- 15. Stir the tomato paste into the onions.
- 16. Deglaze the pan with red wine.
- 17. Add the diced tomatoes to the pan.
- 18. Simmer the sauce, stirring occasionally, for 1 to 2 minutes.
- 19. Add the basil to the sauce.
- 20. Finish the sauce with balsamic vinegar.
- 21. Season the sauce with sea salt.
- 22. Season the sauce with sugar.
- 23. Serve the sauce lukewarm.
- 24. Garnish the sauce with fresh basil leaves.
