  1. 1. Peel the onions and chop them very finely.
  2. 2. Heat the olive oil in a pan.
  3. 3. Sauté the onions in the hot oil until they are soft.
  4. 4. Peel the garlic cloves and press them finely.
  5. 5. Add the pressed garlic to the onion mixture and stir briefly.
  6. 6. Chop the olives coarsely.
  7. 7. Add the tomatoes and tomato paste to the pan.
  8. 8. Let the sauce simmer on low heat.
  9. 9. Stir occasionally until the sauce becomes thick.
  10. 10. Wash the spring onions and remove the hard ends.
  11. 11. Slice the spring onions into thin rings.
  12. 12. Sprinkle the spring onion rings and the coarse olives over the finished sauce.
  13. 13. Heat the sauce once more briefly until it is warm.
  14. 14. Serve the sauce immediately.
