  3. 3. Cut the tomatoes into quarters.
  4. 4. Remove the seeds from the tomatoes.
  5. 5. Dice the tomato flesh into small cubes.
  6. 6. Cut the chili pepper in half lengthwise.
  7. 7. Remove the seeds from the chili pepper.
  8. 8. Rinse the deseeded chili pepper.
  9. 9. Dice the chili pepper into fine cubes.
  10. 10. Peel the onion.
  11. 11. Finely chop the onion.
  12. 12. Heat oil in a pot.
  13. 13. Add the chopped onion and chili cubes to the hot oil.
  14. 14. Sauté the vegetables briefly.
  15. 15. Press the garlic directly into the pot.
  16. 16. Sauté the garlic briefly as well.
  17. 17. Stir the tomato paste into the mixture.
  18. 18. Add the diced tomatoes.
  19. 19. Cover the pot.
  20. 20. Let the salsa simmer for 15 minutes.
  21. 21. Season the salsa with salt.
  22. 22. Season the salsa with pepper.
