🍽️ Fresh Tomato and Basil Salad

Ingredients
- 4 tomatoes
- 1 small, white onion
- 2 tbsp finely chopped basil
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- basil (for garnishing)
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the tomatoes thoroughly under running water.
- 2. Remove the hard stem ends from the tomatoes.
- 3. Slice the tomatoes into thin rounds.
- 4. Arrange the tomato slices on a serving platter.
- 5. Peel the onion.
- 6. Dice the onion into very small cubes.
- 7. Sprinkle the onion cubes evenly over the tomatoes.
- 8. Wash the basil leaves.
- 9. Gently dry the basil leaves with a kitchen towel.
- 10. Chop the basil finely.
- 11. Place the chopped basil leaves, balsamic vinegar, pepper, and salt into a mortar.
- 12. Pound the ingredients in the mortar lightly until the mixture becomes slightly creamy.
- 13. Stir in the oil gradually while continuing to mix.
- 14. Drizzle the finished dressing evenly over the tomatoes.
- 15. Garnish the salad with fresh basil leaves.
- 16. Serve the salad immediately.
