  2. 2. Cut the mozzarella into small cubes.
  3. 3. Wash the tomatoes thoroughly.
  4. 4. Cut the tomatoes into wedges.
  5. 5. Pick the basil leaves off the stems.
  6. 6. Roughly chop half of the basil leaves.
  7. 7. Peel the onion.
  8. 8. Slice the onion into thin rings.
  9. 9. Place the mozzarella, tomatoes, onion rings, and basil in a bowl.
  10. 10. Whisk the oil with the lemon juice and balsamic vinegar.
  11. 11. Season the marinade with salt and pepper.
  12. 12. Press the garlic clove directly into the marinade.
  13. 13. Toss the salad evenly with the marinade.
  14. 14. Place a few fresh basil leaves on the plate.
  15. 15. Arrange the salad on top of the basil leaves.
