  1. 1. Wash the chili pepper thoroughly.
  2. 2. Poke the chili pepper several times all around with a fork.
  3. 3. Mix the sugar with 100 milliliters of water in a pot.
  4. 4. Bring the sugar-water mixture to a boil.
  5. 5. Let the mixture simmer for about 1 minute.
  6. 6. Remove the pot from the heat.
  7. 7. Add the prepared chili pepper and the cardamom seeds to the syrup.
  8. 8. Let the syrup cool down completely.
  9. 9. Pour boiling water over the tomatoes.
  10. 10. Remove the tomatoes from the hot water immediately and let them cool.
  11. 11. Peel the skin off the tomatoes.
  12. 12. Cut the tomatoes into quarters.
  13. 13. Remove the seeds from the tomato pieces.
  14. 14. Puree the tomatoes in a blender until smooth.
  15. 15. Pour the cooled syrup over the tomato puree.
  16. 16. Optionally remove the chili pepper and cardamom seeds from the syrup.
  17. 17. Add the lemon juice and the liqueur to the tomato mixture.
  18. 18. Mix everything well together.
  19. 19. Pour the mixture into a shallow metal dish.
  20. 20. Place the dish in the freezer.
  21. 21. Let the mixture freeze for at least 4 hours.
  22. 22. Take the dish out of the freezer every 30 minutes.
  23. 23. Stir the mixture vigorously with a fork.
  24. 24. Repeat the stirring regularly until the granita is ready.
  25. 25. Take the granita out of the freezer about 10 minutes before serving.
  26. 26. Stir the granita well once more.
  27. 27. Optionally remove the chili pepper and cardamom seeds.
  28. 28. Fill the granita into chilled glasses.
