  1. 1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add some salt to the water. Cook the spaghetti in it until it is al dente (firm to the bite).
  2. 2. Peel the garlic cloves. Slice the garlic thinly.
  3. 3. Wash the tomatoes thoroughly.
  4. 4. Decide whether you want to halve the tomatoes or leave them whole. Cut them accordingly.
  5. 5. Wash the basil leaves.
  6. 6. Shake the basil dry to remove excess water.
  7. 7. Carefully pluck the basil leaves from the stems.
  8. 8. Heat the oil in a large pan.
  9. 9. Add the garlic and tomatoes to the hot pan.
  10. 10. Sauté the ingredients lightly for 3 to 5 minutes.
  11. 11. Drain the cooked pasta.
  12. 12. Let the pasta drain well.
  13. 13. Set aside about half of the basil leaves.
  14. 14. Add the drained pasta to the pan with the tomatoes and garlic.
  15. 15. Toss the pan vigorously to mix the pasta well with the ingredients.
  16. 16. Season the spaghetti with salt.
  17. 17. Season the spaghetti with pepper.
  18. 18. Season the spaghetti with chili to taste.
  19. 19. Distribute the spaghetti onto the plates.
  20. 20. Sprinkle the plated spaghetti with the remaining fresh basil.
