  6. 6. Arrange the tomato and mozzarella slices alternately and slightly overlapping on four large plates.
  7. 7. Season the salad with a pinch of salt and freshly ground pepper.
  8. 8. Drizzle the oil evenly over all four portions.
  9. 9. Pick the fresh basil leaves off the stems.
  10. 10. Gently dry the basil leaves with kitchen paper.
  11. 11. Avoid washing the basil leaves to prevent damage.
  12. 12. Garnish the arranged salads with the basil leaves.
  13. 13. Serve the salad immediately to keep it fresh and crisp.
