🍽️ Fresh Tomato and Mozzarella Platter with Capers and Basil

Ingredients
- 250 g fresh buffalo mozzarella (or mozzarella made from cow's milk)
- 8 ripe vine tomatoes
- 2 tbsp capers (pickled in vinegar)
- 3 sun-dried tomatoes (packed in oil)
- 1 handful fresh basil
- Grissini
- salt
- pepper (freshly ground)
- olive oil (extra virgin, to taste)
Instructions
- 1. Wash the tomatoes thoroughly and pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
- 2. Slice the tomatoes crosswise into even slices.
- 3. Drain the mozzarella in a colander.
- 4. Slice the mozzarella into rounds as well.
- 5. Arrange the tomato slices on your plates.
- 6. Season the tomatoes with a pinch of salt and freshly ground pepper.
- 7. Place the mozzarella slices on top of the seasoned tomatoes.
- 8. Sprinkle a little more pepper over the mozzarella.
- 9. Let the dried tomatoes drain slightly.
- 10. Finely chop the dried tomatoes.
- 11. Rinse the capers under cold running water.
- 12. Pat the capers dry thoroughly.
- 13. Distribute the capers and chopped dried tomatoes over the mozzarella.
- 14. Scatter the fresh basil leaves over the dish.
- 15. Drizzle each portion with one to two tablespoons of olive oil.
- 16. Serve the dish immediately alongside grissini (Italian breadsticks).
