  1. 1. Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh out of the skin with a spoon. Finely chop the basil leaves.
  2. 2. Puree the avocado flesh together with lemon juice, tomato juice, ice cubes, and the chopped basil leaves. Season with salt, pepper, and a little Tabasco, then fill into two tall glasses. Decorate with basil and serve with pumpernickel rounds.
