  1. 1. Peel the onion and slice it into rings.
  2. 2. Peel the garlic and chop it finely.
  3. 3. Wash the plums and pat them dry.
  4. 4. Halve the plums and remove the pits.
  5. 5. Cut the plums into small pieces if necessary.
  6. 6. Heat the olive oil in a non-stick pan.
  7. 7. Add the onions, garlic, and plums to the pan.
  8. 8. Cook the mixture covered over medium heat for 8 minutes.
  9. 9. Season the pan filling with salt and pepper.
  10. 10. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and let it cool.
  11. 11. Wash the frisée lettuce and spin it dry.
  12. 12. Remove the tough stems from the lettuce.
  13. 13. Tear the lettuce into bite-sized pieces.
  14. 14. Toast the four bread roll halves.
  15. 15. Spread the cooled plum-onion mixture onto the bottom roll halves.
  16. 16. Place the lettuce on top of the plum-onion mixture.
  17. 17. Rinse a knife blade under cold water.
  18. 18. Slice the cheese into four slices.
  19. 19. Place the cheese slices on the lettuce.
  20. 20. Place the top roll halves on.
  21. 21. Tie each roll securely with kitchen twine.
  22. 22. Place the rolls in a food container (approx. 1 liter) or wrap them in aluminum foil.
